City names staff for Non-Motorized Grant Program
COLUMBIA, MO (August 22, 2006) -- City Public Works Director John
Glascock today announced the appointment of Ted Curtis as senior planner
for the citys Non-Motorized Grant Program, effective Aug. 28. Curtis
will be paid a salary of $62,918 per year. Curtis founded and directed
Trailnet Inc., a not-for-profit organization promoting bicycle and
pedestrian activities in the St. Louis-Illinois bi-state area. He
recently retired from Trailnet to set up a consultant business on trail
and bikeway issues.
Before founding Trailnet, Curtis logged 24 years at McDonnell Douglas
in various management and engineering positions. He earned a
bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York and a masters degree in
mechanical engineering and engineering management from Washington
University in St. Louis.
All candidates for this position were reviewed by a selection
committee, and Ted was the unanimous choice," Glascock said. He will
be a great asset who can hit the ground running and will contribute to
our efforts to improve the access to a total transportation system.
