City Manager’s News Conference

COLUMBIA, MO (August 29, 2006) -- 

When: Thursday, August 31, 2006 - 9 a.m.

Where: City Council Chamber, 4th floor, Daniel Boone Building, 701 E.
Broadway

What: Three- part news conference

* Availability of Mickey Bowman, vice president for planning, Mesa
Air Group. Mr. Bowman is visiting Columbia and will take reporters’
questions. Mesa Air Group will provide air service to Columbia Regional
Airport, starting Oct. 5.

* Community Visioning. Assistant City Manager Paula Hertwig Hopkins
will announce the Visioning Sponsors Council meeting, set for Wednesday,
Sept. 6, and discuss agenda items.

* City Manager Bill Watkins will discuss agenda items for the City
Council meeting set for Monday, Aug. 28, and will take reporters’
questions.

PLEASE NOTE: This news conference is in lieu of the one normally
scheduled for 9:30 a.m., the Friday before the Council meeting.
