Temporary closure of West Boulevard North
								
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announced the reclosure of a section of West Boulevard North. On Thursday, Dec. 14, West Boulevard North between West Broadway and West Ash Street will be closed to thru traffic to facilitate the installation of permanent asphalt pavement across West Boulevard. 
	The closure is expected to last one day and West Boulevard North should be reopened the same afternoon. Detours around the closure will be marked by construction signing and should be utilized. The following day, Dec. 15, the contractor will finish the remainder of the pavement replacement while maintaining thru traffic. Care should be exercised in the construction area and alternate routes are recommended. 
	This work is in conjunction with the West Boulevard/Mary Gene Street Drainage Project. Kevin Rackers Excavating, LLC of New Bloomfield, Mo., was the successful bidder on the project in the amount of $307,204.99. This project consists of 954 feet of storm water piping ranging in size from 60-inch to 15-inch diameter, a reinforced concrete box culvert, storm water inlets, sanitary sewer main upgrades, water quality structures, landscaping and other incidental work. 
	It is anticipated that the total project construction will be completed in late January 2007, weather permitting.
