Light snow affects driving

COLUMBIA, MO (February 11, 2006) -- On Saturday, Feb. 11, between 9 and
9:30 a.m., the Columbia Fire Department responded to nine separate
vehicle accidents in the Columbia area. During that half four, five of
the nine injury accidents were dispatched as extrications.

When winter weather strikes, Columbia motorists are encouraged to allow
additional driving time to reach their destination and allow extra space
in between your car and the vehicles in front of you. In winter, summer,
spring or fall, motorist should always wear a seatbelt. Seatbelts save
lives and it is the law.
