City arts funding applications available 

COLUMBIA, MO (January 19, 2006) -- Applications for the city's arts
funding process will be available starting Wednesday, Jan. 26.

Staff of the Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) and members of the
Commission on Cultural Affairs will be available to meet with potential
applicants to discuss the form and process from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. on
Jan. 26 in the board room of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB),
300 S. Providence.

Representatives of local arts organizations are encouraged to stop by
the CVB at any time during the afternoon of Jan. 26 to get an
application and learn about the process.

After the session, the application forms will be available at the OCA,
13 N. 8th Street. OCA staff is likewise available year-round to meet
one-on-one with potential applicants. 

To qualify for city arts funding, lead applicants must be arts
organizations with 501c3 status. Collaborations with other entities are
encouraged. In fiscal year 2006, the city is providing more than $78,000
to 16 local arts organizations. Funded projects focus on presentation of
visual, performing and literary arts and related educational offerings.
