Pearls of Wisdom from the Stories of Our Elders

	(COLUMBIA, MO) - “LET'S TALK, COLUMBIA!” is an opportunity
for citizen involvement in dialogues on diversity. The program is
sponsored by the Commission on Human Rights. The Commission’s goal is
that through personal interaction, understanding is fostered and
relationships are strengthened, creating a greater community-wide
appreciation for human diversity.  
	This month’s topic emphasizes the tradition of the spoken word
as it is passed down through generations. Residents of all ages are
invited to attend and learn from the experiences, challenges and life
lessons shared by the elders in our community. 
	Since the Community Study Circle program’s inception in June
2000, more than 500 persons from throughout our community have
participated in study circles on diversity, race and community.
