City manager to present proposed budget

COLUMBIA, MO (July 26, 2006) -- City Manager Bill Watkins will present
the city of Columbia’s proposed Fiscal Year 2007 annual budget during
a press conference scheduled for Friday, July 28, at 9:30 a.m. The press
conference will be in the City Council Chamber, located on the 4th floor
of City Hall at 701 E. Broadway.

The press conference will be aired live on the Columbia Channel, which
is Channel 13 on Mediacom and Channel 2 on Charter Communications. It
will be rebroadcast at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Friday and 7 a.m., 11 a.m.,
7 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The press
conference also will be rebroadcast periodically through mid-September.

Copies of the proposed budget will be delivered to the Columbia Public
Library following the press conference and will be placed on the
city’s Web site at www.GoColumbiaMo.com on the city manager’s
page. Copies also will be available for viewing in the city's Finance
Department at City Hall after the press conference.
