Go Skateboarding Day planned

COLUMBIA, MO (June 9, 2006) -- Don't miss Go Skateboarding Day! The
event, geared toward celebrating National Skateboarding Day, will be
held from 2 to 6 p.m. on June 24 at the Columbia Skate Park at Cosmo
Park. The event will feature skate team demos, free time to skate and
helmet giveaways. It is free of charge. 

All ages are welcome to participate and the event is open to those who
have been skating for years, just starting out and for those who just
want to watch. Participants will be able to enter the best trick contest
for a chance to win a prize. Contest participants must wear helmets. The
day will also feature great music and food. 

Go Skateboarding Day is presented by Columbia Parks and Recreation,
Columbia/Boone County Health Department and Tiger Pilot Club.
