Sewer manhole work on Providence Road, College Avenue 
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - During the next several weeks, the Public Works
Department Sewer Utility will replace all of the sanitary sewer manhole
frames and covers on Providence Road between Business Loop 70 East and
Stadium Boulevard and on College Avenue between Business Loop 70 East
and Rogers Street. This work is necessary because of a milling and
overlay project that MODOT has scheduled for these streets beginning in
mid-August. 
	Beginning on Monday, June 26, and continuing through Friday,
June 30, the Sewer Utility will saw the concrete pavement around each of
the manholes. Following this work, the concrete pavement around each
manhole will be removed and a new manhole frame and cover will be
installed. The top of the new manhole will be left one-half inch higher
than the existing pavement. A temporary asphalt overlay will be applied
from the top of the elevated manhole down to the existing street
surface. This will result in a slight irregular pavement surface at each
manhole until the milling and overlay project is completed.
	There will not be any work during the week of July 3 thru July
7. The work will resume on Monday, July 10 and is expected to be
completed prior to Aug. 11.
	The streets will remain open but traffic may be diverted through
the work area. The work will begin at 9 a.m. and will be completed prior
to 9 p.m. each day.
	Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when driving
through the work area and use alternate routes when possible. Anyone
having questions related to the planned work should call the Sewer
