Frerking named Columbia Regional Airport manager
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia is pleased to announce
Katherine (Kathy) Frerking has been promoted to fill the position of
manager of Columbia Regional Airport. She will assume the duties of the
position effective immediately.
	Ms. Frerking has been a city of Columbia Public Works Department
employee for 25 years. She has served in various roles for the
department during that period, and has filled the department's
management support specialist position since 1987. Her responsibilities
have included coordinating the department's budget process, which
includes the airport budget, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant
and grant reimbursement request submittals, and financial administration
of construction and consultant contracts for the department. She has
also worked closely with previous airport managers to ensure all
administrative requirements have been met with regard to capital
improvement projects and leases at the airport.
	She is a graduate of Rock Bridge High School and the University
of Missouri - Columbia, and was selected based on her performance as a
city employee and her knowledge of the FAA grant and airport capital
project processes and procedures.  
	Kathy's wide range of experience with city operations and high
level of competence within the Public Works Department makes her the
best choice for this position.
