Cleanup Columbia to be held April 8
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - Cleanup Columbia, one of Columbia's largest
single-day volunteer activities, will be held on Saturday, April 8.
Cleanup Columbia is a city-wide event where residents volunteer to pick
up trash along streets and in parks.
	This year's event, the 10th annual, already has 88 groups
registered to participate, representing 1,070 volunteers. There is still
opportunity for others to volunteer.
	Citizens are encouraged to volunteer with Cleanup Columbia and
may also suggest locations where trash should be picked up. Residents
can find an online form at www.GoColumbiaMo.com where they can share
location suggestions.  
	"Cleanup Columbia is an easy way for residents to volunteer to
keep Columbia clean," said Leigh Nutter, volunteer coordinator for the
city of Columbia. "City staff will help volunteers find a cleanup
location. The city provides bags and gloves and will pick up the filled
bags at the end of the event."
	Sponsors for Cleanup Columbia include APAC-Missouri Division,
Columbia Daily Tribune, 102.3 BXR, KOMU TV-8, WB 5, the Sierra Club and
CenturyTel. The Golden K Kiwanis Club provides special assistance with
the event.
