Bike, Walk & Wheel Week Breakfast Stations Day
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The main event of Bike, Walk & Wheel Week is Breakfast Stations Day! Citizens are invited to drop in at one of the many breakfast stations around town on Friday morning, May 12, as they bike, walk or wheel to work, school or other destinations.
Breakfast stations will be open from 7-9 a.m. for those getting around by their own power. There will be live radio broadcasts from the Colosseum Bistro, downtown (David Lile on KFRU) and the ARC (Chris Kellogg on KPLA), where the breakfast stations will open at 6:30 a.m. Other locations are:
* Forum Trailhead, sponsored by Clover's and Tryathletics
* Hoss's Market & Rotisserie at the corner of Forum and Nifong, sponsored by Hoss's, D Rowe's and Keeping Good Company
* Jack's Gourmet at 1903 Business Loop 70 East
* MKT Trailhead at Stewart and Providence-sponsored by Walt's Bike Shop
* Islamic Center of Central Missouri at 201 South 5th Street
* Panera Bread at 102 South 9th Street
* Kelani Hair & Day Spa at 1100 East Walnut
* D & H Drugstore at the corner of Broadway and West Boulevard, sponsored by
D & H and the Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness & Health
* Stephen's Lake Park, sponsored by the Coffee Ground
Additionally, 12 schools throughout the city will participate in Breakfast Stations Day. Some schools set up their own breakfast stations at school, while others will take advantage of the already established stations. Approximately 1,500 students are expected to walk to school as part of Breakfast Stations Day.
