Community Circle: poverty simulation and citizen
dialogue
(COLUMBIA, MO) - A provocative "poverty simulation" exercise
will be led by Central Missouri Community Action at this month's
Community Circle Thursday, May 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. at the
Columbia Public Library Friends Room. This unique learning resource
creates insight into the state of chronic crisis that consumes so many
working poor families. In one hour of real time, participants confront
challenges facing families living in poverty during one simulated
month.
Community Circles are free, open to the public and held by the
city's Human Right's Commission. Adults and mature teens are
welcome. Community leaders are encouraged to attend. No registration
required. Call Nanette at (573) 874-7488 (v/tty) or e-mail
HRC at GoColumbiaMo.com for transportation assistance or disability
accommodations.
