LET’S TALK COLUMBIA!: Dealing with Disabilities

COLUMBIA, MO (October 18, 2006) -- 

Thursday, October 19, 2006
6 pm - 8:45 pm
Columbia Public Library Friends Room 

This month’s topic will address issues affecting the disabled population in Columbia including: labels, attitudinal barriers, civil rights, access in housing, transportation, education, employment, public places and participation in community life.

Residents of all backgrounds are encouraged to attend and participate in candid dialogue about the challenges and accomplishments of disabled citizens and working together as a community. A sign language interpreter will be provided.

This program is sponsored by the city of Columbia Human Rights and Disabilities Commissions. Hear and share personal perspectives and action ideas for change. For more information, transportation assistance or disability accommodations call 573-874-7488 or email HRC at GoColumbiaMo.com.
