Mt. Zion Church Road closed on Friday

(Columbia, MO) -- On Friday, Oct. 27, weather permitting, the
Columbia Terminal Railroad (COLT) will make repairs to its highway-rail
crossing at Mt. Zion Church Road. The crossing, located between
Hallsville and Columbia in Boone County, will be closed the entire day.
A detour will be available via Low Crossing Road and Vamon School Road.
Motorists are encouraged use alternate routes to avoid the construction
area on Friday.
The COLT repair work is part of the railroad’s maintenance
plan. Well maintained tracks are an important part of the railroad’s
ability to make deliveries. The repairs will also enable motorists to
travel over the tracks in a smoother fashion.
The COLT is a short line railroad owned and operated by the city
of Columbia Water & Light Department that provides railroad freight
service to Columbia and mid-Missouri.
