Special Olympics plans 'Bowl for Gold' fund-raiser

COLUMBIA, MO (August 31, 2006) -- Special Olympics Missouri - Central
Area will host its annual fund-raiser, the Bowl for Gold Tournament, on
Saturday, Sept. 16, from 2-6 p.m., at Town & Country Lanes, 1508 N.
Providence Road. Proceeds will help with the cost of training, uniforms,
equipment and facility fees for 13,000 Special Olympics athletes.

Bowl for Gold is a great way to have fun and support Special Olympics
at the same time. 

Good bowling skills are not required to participate. Entry cost is $50
per team of five bowlers. Teams are also invited to collect pledges.
Teams that collect more than $100 in pledges will receive a free "Bowl
for Gold" T-shirt for each team member. T-shirts can also be purchased
for $10 each with proceeds going to the Special Olympics athletes.
