Start construction of Hope Place Reconstruction Project

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announced the
beginning construction of the Hope Place Reconstruction Project. This
project is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 25, weather permitting.
Hope Place, between West Boulevard and Hardin Street, will be
closed to thru traffic. The intersection of Hope Place and Hardin Street
will also be closed for construction. West Boulevard at the Hope Place
intersection will be temporarily reduced to one lane traffic during
construction to allow for the installation of storm drainage piping
across and along the west side of West Boulevard.
Emery Sapp & Sons Inc. of Columbia, Mo., was the successful
bidder on the project in the amount of $168,408.50. This project will
consist of the construction of a 28-foot wide concrete street pavement,
the installation of 15-inch, 18-inch and 24-inch reinforced concrete
storm water pipe and inlets and other incidental work.
It is anticipated that construction will be completed by late
November, weather permitting. Care should be exercised in the
construction area and alternate routes should be used.
