Registration deadline for Cleanup Columbia is Friday	
								
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - This Friday, April 6, is the registration
deadline to participate in the annual “Cleanup Columbia” event.
Cleanup Columbia is a city-wide event where residents volunteer to pick
up trash along streets and in parks.
	This year’s event, the 11th annual, currently has 91
registered groups and 1,109 volunteers planning to participate. There is
still plenty of time for others to volunteer.
	The Office of Volunteer Services, who organizes the event, also
invites the public to share locations that are in need of cleanup.
Suggestions for where volunteers should be assigned can be shared
through an online form on the city’s Web site, www.GoColumbiaMo.com. 
	Individuals and groups of all sizes and types are welcome to
participate in Cleanup Columbia. The city of Columbia will work with
each person or group to identify an area for trash pick-up, provide
supplies including bags and gloves and pick up the filled bags at the
end of the event. 
	Sponsors for Cleanup Columbia include APAC-Missouri Inc, The
Sierra Club, CenturyTel, Columbia Daily Tribune, 102.3 BXR, KOMU TV-8
and the Mid-Missouri CW. The Golden K Kiwanis Club and Columbia Public
Works Department provide important support for the event.
