Nearly 1,400 volunteers plan to ‘Cleanup Columbia’ this Saturday
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia’s Office of Volunteer
Services reports that 1,397 volunteers from 125 groups have registered
to participate in this Saturday’s 11th annual Cleanup Columbia event.
Volunteers will be along Columbia streets and trails and in our parks
Saturday morning picking up litter. Following trash pickup, volunteers
are invited to a picnic lunch at noon at Twin Lakes Recreation Area.
Cleanup Columbia is sponsored by APAC-Missouri Division, the
Sierra Club, CenturyTel, the Columbia Daily Tribune, 102.3 BXR, the
Mid-Missouri CW and KOMU TV 8. Columbia Public Works and the Golden K
Kiwanis Club provide special assistance for the event.
