Sixth annual Cycle-Recycle gearing up
(COLUMBIA, MO) - As part of the Mayor’s Challenge: Bike, Walk
& Wheel Week, the PedNet Coalition is partnering with the Columbia/Boone
County Health Department and Columbia Safe Kids Coalition to organize
the sixth annual Cycle-Recycle. This event will be held at the
Columbia/Boone County Health Department, 1005 West Worley, on Sunday,
May 13, beginning at 1 p.m.
In the last five years, approximately 600 bicycles have been
donated, fixed up and given out during these events. Staff from
Cyclextreme, Walt’s Bike Shop, Klunk’s and Jim’s Bike & Key, along
with local volunteers, will spend the morning before the event fixing up
the donated bicycles. Anyone wishing to donate a second-hand bike, still
in good condition, to Cycle-Recycle should email Robert at pednet.org.
