Temporary closure of Ninth Street

(COLUMBIA, MO) -- The Public Works Department announces that beginning
Aug. 17 at 7 a.m. Phoenix Contractors will construct a steel structure
at 126 South Ninth St. This work will result in the closure of Ninth
Street, between Cherry and Locust streets, and the sidewalk in the
construction zone. The work should be completed and the road fully
reopened, Aug. 21, at 3:30 p.m., weather permitting. This section of
Ninth Street will remain closed throughout the evening hours during the
construction of the structure.
Motorists are advised to take an alternate route during these dates.
Anyone having questions related to the street closure should contact the
