First 3-on-3 basketball tournaments planned

COLUMBIA, MO (December 20, 2007) - Columbia Parks and Recreation is
planning the first 3-on-3 men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.


Registration for the men’s tournament is being taken through Jan. 25.
The tournament will be played Feb. 3-7 at Douglass High School Gym in
honor of Black History Month. 

The women’s tournament will be held March 9-13 at Douglass, in honor
of Women’s History Month. Registration for the women’s tournament is
being taken until Feb. 29. 

In both tournaments, players ages 15 and up are invited to participate.
The cost is $25 per team and only 16 teams will be allowed in each
tournament. Five players are allowed per roster. 

The tournaments are double-elimination, so each team will play at least
two games. The games are a 20-minute running clock. Trophies go to first
through third place.
