Wanted: citizens with passion, knowledge, commitment...and vision

COLUMBIA, MO (February 16, 2007) -- Citizens who care deeply about
Columbia’s future are invited to the next Citizen Topic Group meetings
set for Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 6 - 8 p.m. Sessions will take place at
West Junior High School, 401 Clinkscales Rd.

This is the last chance to join one of 13 Citizen Topic Groups set up
to determine a community vision for Columbia. Groups will continue
meeting at least monthly through June 2007. They will prepare a
“draft” version of a vision plan and share it with the
community-at-large in April. Their “final” plan will be issued this
summer.

Interested citizens may select one of 13 topic groups: Arts and
Culture; Community Character; Community Facilities and Services;
Community Pride and Human Relations; Development; Downtown; Economic
Development; Education; Environment; Governance/Decision-Making; Health,
Social Services and Affordable Housing; Parks, Recreation and Greenways;
and Transportation.
