Update: Afternoon fire destroys home in southwest Columbia

COLUMBIA, MO (June 10, 2007) - Columbia Fire Department investigators
remained on the scene at 2601 Limerick Lane sifting through debris until
just after 9 p.m. last night attempting to determine the cause of the
fire. It was determined that the fire started in an upstairs room;
however the exact cause has yet to be determined. Additional information
is still being gathered at this time and the investigation continues.
Damage estimates have been reduced to the area of $500,000. Additional
information will be released as it becomes available.
