Go Skateboarding Day planned

COLUMBIA, MO (June 18, 2007) - Don’t miss Go Skateboarding Day! The
event, geared toward celebrating National Skateboarding Day, will be
held from 2 to 6 p.m. on June 23 at the Columbia Skate Park at Cosmo
Park. The event will feature skate team demos, free time to skate and
helmet giveaways. It is free of charge. 

All ages are welcome to participate and the event is open to those who
have been skating for years, just starting out and for those who just
want to watch. Participants will be able to enter the best trick contest
and a high ollie contest for a chance to win a prize. Contest
participants must wear helmets. 

The day will also feature great music and food, plus the Missouri
Department of Transportation will have their crash vehicle on display. 

Go Skateboarding Day is presented by Columbia Parks and Recreation,
Columbia/Boone County Health Department, Small Time Skates, Tiger Pilot
Club and Youth Community Coalition.
