Dogwood Lane to be Restricted next Week
COLUMBIA, MO (March 16, 2007) - On Tuesday, March 20, 2007, weather
permitting, the Columbia Terminal Railroad (COLT) will be removing
tracks from its highway-rail crossing at Dogwood Lane in Columbia. These
tracks used to serve Sutherland Lumber Company and are no longer needed
by the new property owner.
The Dogwood Lane crossing, located just south of Interstate 70 along
Paris Road (Route B), will be restricted to one lane while the work is
performed. Work is expected to be complete and the street free from
restriction by Friday, March 23. Motorists are encouraged to exercise
caution in this area or find alternate routes while the construction is
taking place.
The COLT is a short line railroad owned and operated by the City of
Columbia and operated by Columbia Water & Light. It provides railroad
freight service to Columbia and the mid-Missouri area.
