Columbia visioning groups prepare for April 4 Exploring the Vision
workshop
COLUMBIA, MO (March 22, 2007) -- Columbia Citizen Topic Groups have
been working diligently to prepare a mid-term vision plan to be
presented to the public on April 4, 2007.
Two hundred twenty-five Citizen Topic Group members met on March 14 to
further define goals and prioritize strategies for a broad range of
community issues. Their work continues this week as various topic groups
prepare final touches on the midpoint plan.
All 13 Topic Groups are eager to share the emerging vision with the
community-at-large during the April 4, Exploring the Vision Workshop, 6
- 8 p.m. at Stephens College in the Kimball Ballroom at Lela Raney Wood
Hall, 6 North College Avenue.
The public will rate goals presented by representatives from each topic
group.
Participants will also provide important feedback on the strategies
that are being formulated to those goals into reality.
The Citizen Topic Groups will use this information to gauge whether
their plans reflect the concerns of the community as they continue
working through spring to create a roadmap for Columbia's future.
Community Topic Groups include: Arts and Culture; Community Character;
Community Facilities and Services; Community Pride and Human Relations;
Development; Downtown; Economic Development; Education; Environment;
Governance/Decision-Making; Health, Social Services and Affordable
Housing; Parks, Recreation and Greenways; and Transportation.
