Energy Conservation Fair
COLUMBIA, MO (May 7, 2007) -
DATE: May 8, 2007
TIME: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
LOCATION: The Activity and Recreation Center
(corner of Clinkscales and Ash)
SPONSORS: Central Missouri Community Action, Columbia Water and Light,
Boone Electric Cooperative, AmerenUE, University of Missouri - Columbia
Service Learning and AARP
(Columbia, MO) -- A free energy efficiency fair will be held from 4
p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8. The purpose of the event is to
encourage conservation which saves money on utility bills and also helps
the environment. There will be informational displays on efficient
lighting, weather stripping, fixing leaky toilets and summer cooling
tips. The sponsoring agencies will have staff on hand to answer
questions about energy efficient projects.
The first 50 people who attend the event will receive an energy and
water conservation kit. The kit will include a compact fluorescent light
bulb, electric outlet and switch insulation gaskets, removable rope
caulk and a low-flow shower head.
