Recycling garden containers

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department
announces a partnership with two local businesses to recycle plastic
garden containers. Like many types of plastic, the garden containers
cannot be recycled in the normal city recycling program because of the
various types of plastic used.
Ryan Enterprises of Millersburg has found another use for
plastics such as these by making fence posts and other products. The
city of Columbia is partnering with Superior Garden Center to gather
containers for Ryan Enterprises so they can be turned into useful
recycled products.
Individuals may drop off their plastic garden containers at
Superior Garden Center June 15-16 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and June 17
between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Superior Garden Center is located at 3100 Old
Highway 63 South.
If you would like more information on recycling programs, please
contact the Public Works Volunteer Program at 874-6271 or check out the
city’s Web site at www.GoColumbiaMo.com.
