Boone County flood update: Emergency Operations Center closing down

COLUMBIA, MO (May 13, 2007) - Member agencies and governments
participating in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) agreed this
morning to close down as situations continue stable or improved in Boone
County. Recovery and cleanup efforts are expected to start on Monday.
Officials will start returning borrowed equipment and will document all
costs associated with the event. 

There is no need for volunteers or donations of food and water at this
time. If conditions change, a new call will go out.

Road Closures: New Resource at http://www.showmeboone.com/ and
http://gocolumbiamo.com/EM/Natural_Disasters/flooding.php 
These links take users to the most comprehensive and current list of
road closures, with maps showing water coverage. The site will be
continually updated by Columbia/Boone County Joint Communications as
conditions change. Some roads may remain closed as workers remove silt
and debris and restore them to satisfactory condition.

Site Status Reports: 
● Rocheport: NO NEW REPORTS. The situation in stable.
● Huntsdale: NO NEW REPORTS. The situation is stable.
● McBaine: NO NEW REPORTS. The City of Columbia’s water treatment
plant is not in danger. The city’s nearby wetland sewage treatment
facility is functioning normally.
● Hartsburg: Officials continue to monitor levees and seepage and are
still pumping rainwater. The situation is stable.
● Wilton: The situation is stable.
