Columbia/Boone County Health Department will host Saturday flu clinic
COLUMBIA, MO (November 15, 2007) - Staff from the Columbia/Boone County
Health Department will open their doors for a flu clinic from 10 a.m. to
1 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 17.
Flu shots and FluMist are $20 during flu clinics. The Health Department
cannot bill private insurances, however Medicaid and Medicare are
accepted. If you qualify, please bring your card. Cash or check will be
accepted for payment.
This clinic will provide parents who work during the week the
opportunity to have their children and themselves immunized. Those who
do not get vaccinated have a higher risk of medical bills and expenses,
as well as missed school and work. A flu vaccination can help prevent
the flu by 70-90 percent.
The Columbia/Boone County Health Department has immunized approximately
3,400 Boone County citizens. For more information on the flu or for a
community flu clinic schedule, please visit www.GoColumbiaMo.com.
