City Council will hold work session on FY 2008 budget
COLUMBIA, MO (September 10, 2007) -

When: Wednesday, Sept. 12, starting at 6 p.m.
Where: Conference Room, 4th floor, Daniel Boone Building, 701 E.
Broadway
What: Potential amendments to proposed FY 2008 budget

Background:
● City manager submitted his budget proposal on July 30.
● Since then, Council members have held public work sessions on
department proposals and utility rate cost studies and have held two of
three required public hearings to get general comments from citizens.
● The Council will hold its third public hearing on Monday, Sept. 17,
during its regular meeting starting at 7 p.m. The Council could adopt
the budget at that time.
● The budget must be adopted before the end of September, or it
stands approved as proposed by the city manager.
● The city’s fiscal year runs from Oct. 1 - Sept. 30.
