September 13 Visioning Community Choices Open House starts with ribbon
cutting and celebration at noon

COLUMBIA, MO (September 10, 2007) - The “Imagine Columbia’s
Future” Community Choices Open House begins at 12 p.m. with a
Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony and refreshments on
Thursday, Sept. 13, in the Kimball Ballroom at Lela Raney Wood Hall,
Stephens College, 6 North Broadway.

The public is invited to attend the opening celebration or stop by any
time between noon and 8 p.m. to review and rank components of the draft
vision, which includes 41 subtopic goals and 128 strategies for turning
the vision into reality. Each participant will receive six dots to place
next to the top six strategies he or she feels are most important to
Columbia's future.

Public transportation runs late Thursday evening. Shuttles will also
run in 15-minutes intervals between Stephens College and 10th &
Broadway, so community members can enjoy Twilight Festival and still
participate in the visioning event.

Citizens short on time can choose to review the vision plan and select
their priority strategies in advance by visiting www.GoColumbiaMo.com,
and clicking on “Imagine Columbia's Future.” For more information,
please call Renee Graham at 573-874-7316.
