Bill ‘Stretch’ Coleman to entertain audiences at Festival
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The 2007 Columbia Festival of the Arts will
feature the stilt-walking and sky-painting talents of Bill “Stretch”
Coleman, giant walk-about puppets with moveable arms, including one
named “Picasso,” and an “Interactive Bubble Sculpture.”
Coleman, from Denver, Colo., has appeared with Cirque Du Soleil,
at the nationally known Cherry Creek Art Festival and on the TV show
“Extreme Makeover, Home Edition.” This will be the first time
Coleman has been featured at the Festival or in Missouri.
Coleman will stroll in the Children’s Art Area while
entertaining families with his “sky painting” and other interactive
fun. As part of the Festival’s Children’s Art Area, Coleman will
offer informal instruction on stilt-walking and will have bucket stilts
available for use by young children.
Giant “walk-about puppets” will accompany Coleman as he
participates in the Festival and a 14-foot high “Interactive Bubble
Sculpture” will be on site in the Children’s Art Area as well.
Festival dates are Sept. 29 -30 and it is open from 10 a.m. to 5
p.m. each day. For specific performance times and stage locations,
