Providence Road improvements meeting

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announces an
informational meeting to be held Thursday, April 24, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
at the Daniel Boone Regional Library Friends Conference Room to discuss
conceptual improvements along Providence Road, between Stewart Road and
Stadium Boulevard.
The purpose of the meeting is to gather information from the
public regarding possible safety and capacity improvements along
Providence Road. Also being considered are non-motorized transportation
improvements. Information is being gathered regarding possible
alternatives. These alternatives will be evaluated to determine how well
they address the transportation issues while also addressing community
priorities. Funds for the Providence/Burnam/Rollins project are part of
the 2005 ballot issue and estimated for construction in 2010.
At this time, possible improvements are at the conceptual level.
Improvements may affect property east and west of Providence Road. The
general area where conceptual alternatives are being considered includes
Stadium Boulevard, Carrie Franke Drive, LaGrange Court, LaGrange Road,
Kentucky Boulevard, Maryland Avenue, Turner Avenue, Stewart Road, Garth
Avenue, Clarkson Road, Burnam Road, Burnam Avenue, Bingham Road, Brandon
Road and possibly other roads in the area.
If you have any questions about the meeting, please contact the
Public Works Department at (573) 874-7250.
