Columbia firefighters and local emergency service providers to
participate in 'Buzz the Red, White and Blue'

COLUMBIA, MO (August 8, 2008) - Columbia firefighters, local law
enforcement officers and local EMS providers will participate in the 1st
Annual "Buzz the Red, White and Blue" benefit for the Central Missouri
Dream Factory to support children and their families who are battling
cancer on Sunday, Aug. 10. 

The event will be hosted at Stephens Lake Park in the Gordon Shelter
House, located at Old Highway 63 and Broadway in Columbia. The event
includes:

Registration and barbecue at 4 p.m. 

Head shavings begin at 5 p.m. 

Live music between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. 

"Buzz the Red, White and Blue" is a fund-raising event to support local
chapter of The Dream Factory, a national organization which grants
wishes to critically ill children. Local emergency service providers
will solicit for donations and then have there heads shaved (buzzed).
The funds raised will provide the means for local children to have their
dreams come true. You can learn more about The Dream Factory by visiting

Local emergency services providers are doing this to show their support
for these incredibly brave children and their families who are battling
life-threatening illness such as cancer.
