Proposals sought for local human rights and cultural diversity
programs
COLUMBIA, MO (August 25, 2008) - The city of Columbia’s Human Rights
Commission is requesting funding proposals for 2009 as a part of the
Human Rights Enhancement Program. Schools, civic groups and
not-for-profit organizations are encouraged to apply.
“Programs which result from the proposals play an integral part in
educating the community on the importance of diversity, inclusion,
tolerance and the elimination of discrimination,” said Steve Hollis,
manager, Office of Community Services.
Proposal information is available through the Office of Community
Services, 1005 W. Worley Street, by phone at (573) 874-7488 (v) or
874-7356 (tty). An informational meeting will be held for interested
applicants on Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the
Columbia/Boone
County Health Department in Training Room 1. Applicants may also
download information from www.GoColumbiaMo.com (Go word:
GoHumanRights).
The deadline for proposals is Sept. 26.
