Sanitary sewer and storm drainage work on Sewer District 154

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department
announces that Columbia Curb and Gutter has begun repairs on Sewer
District 154 for Edgewood, Maupin and Westwood avenues. The project
involves construction of sanitary sewer and storm drainage repairs,
which will continue through May.
The work involves construction of new sanitary sewer for 52 homes that
are currently being served by private sewer and storm drainage repairs
for Edgewood, Maupin and Westwood avenues. This project was approved by
voters on the 2003 ballot and paid for with revenue bonds and enterprise
funds. Project cost is approximately $1.14 million.
This work will result in temporary lane restrictions on these streets,
which is scheduled to be complete, weather permitting, in May. Motorists
may experience road closures in the affected area. Motorists and
pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone
and use an alternate route whenever possible. For additional information
on this project, contact the Public Works Department at (573) 873-7250.
