Historic Preservation Night will be held tonight

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Historic Preservation Commission's 2008
Most Notable Properties event will be held at the Tiger Hotel, 23 S. 8th
St., this evening beginning at 7 p.m. with light refreshments. Planning
Department staff will set up displays from each of the past 10 years the
“Most Notable” gala has taken place, including this year's 100th
"Most Notable Property" located at 1601 Stoney Brook Place. Historic
Preservation Commission Chair Brian Treece will introduce this year's
award winners at (or about) 7:30 p.m. followed by a 10-minute video
produced by the city’s Columbia Channel. Award winners have been
encouraged to bring memorabilia (pictures, newspaper articles, etc.) to
display at the event and will have an opportunity to speak following the
video.
Since 1999, the annual 10 Most Notable Properties event has been
an opportunity for the public to meet and interact with Columbia's
Historic Preservation Commission, as well as view some of the fine
historic and architecturally significant properties Columbia has to
offer. The public is welcome to attend this free event.
