Public meeting scheduled for Parks and Recreation projects

COLUMBIA, MO (February 13, 2008) - The Columbia Parks and Recreation
Department announces an "interested party" meeting concerning the
addition of four tennis courts at Cosmo-Bethel Park and the addition of
solar lighting at the ARC (Activity and Recreation Center). 

The meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
at the ARC, 1701 West Ash Street, Meeting Room C.

Four new tennis courts are scheduled to be constructed at Cosmo-Bethel
this year, bringing the total number of courts at the site to 12. The
project will be funded by the park sales tax. 

At the ARC, plans call for the addition of three solar lights to the
parking lot. The lights would be similar to those in place at Stephens
Lake Park. 

The public is invited to attend the meeting and offer input or learn
more about either of the two projects.
