City of Columbia to host informational meeting concerning the proposed
Columbia Fire Station No. 9 at Providence and Blueridge
COLUMBIA, MO (July 22, 2008) - The city of Columbia will host a meeting
on July 29 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria at Derby Ridge Elementary School,
4000 Derby Ridge Drive, to provide information to the public concerning
the proposed fire station site at Providence and Blueridge roads.
Citizens are encouraged to attend, ask questions and provide comments.
City Council representatives, city staff members and the architect will
provide information including proposed floor plans, drawings and a 3-D
model of the proposed building.
Station No. 9 is one of two new fire facilities financed by a
voter-approved, quarter-cent capital improvement sales tax ballot issue
in 2005. Voters first authorized the sales tax in 1991 and then approved
extensions in 1995, 1999 and 2005.
