Parks and Recreation dedicates two neighborhood parks
COLUMBIA, MO (June 16, 2008) - Columbia Parks and Recreation dedicated
two new neighborhood parks on Saturday, June 14. Longview Park is
located at 4980 Gillespie Bridge Road and Louisville Park is located at
806 Louisville Drive.
Both parks were recently completed and feature the amenities typical of
a neighborhood park: playground, open play area, picnic shelter,
perimeter trail and basketball half-court. Both parks also have a pond,
and Louisville Park is the site of two rain gardens designed to catch
and treat storm water runoff.
The dedications featured remarks by city officials, a ribbon-cutting
ceremony and refreshments.
