City cable channel temporarily off the air

COLUMBIA, MO (June 18, 2008) - (COLUMBIA, MO) -- The City of
Columbia’s government access channel is temporarily off the air due
to a cable cut that occurred yesterday during excavation for the new
City Hall addition at Eighth Street and Broadway. Cable television
subscribers normally may view this programming on MediaCom Channel 13.

Broadcasts on Charter Communications Channel 2 run over fiber and
should not be affected.

Staff members are planning repairs aimed at getting back on the air
later this evening. For the time being, the outage will affect
rebroadcasts of City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission and Board
of Adjustment meetings. This also applies to video program segments,
community event announcements, job listings and other programming
normally carried on this channel.

Selected video segments for Conservation Tips, Leisure Times, City
Scope and “Here’s to Your Health” may be viewed online any time at
the link below. http://www.gocolumbiamo.com/TCC/Video/index.php.
