Daniel Boone Building utility excavations
(COLUMBIA, MO) - Excavation in the alley north of the Daniel
Boone building, for new utilities services, was scheduled to start
today. The alley is the area from the canopy on the north side of the
building to the parking garage, and then from Seventh Street east to the
construction fence. The work will last most of the week with special
efforts to accommodate drive-through teller traffic on Tuesday.
The two metered parking spaces will be unavailable Tuesday and
possibly through Wednesday. There also may be a period while the
contractor patches the asphalt later in the week when the metered
parking will be closed.
The area will be congested. The contractor plans to have a flag
man available to assist customer traffic to the drive-through. The dig
has been scheduled so that the trench across the drive-through approach
will be opened and then closed on Tuesday morning BEFORE business
hours.
This is just one of several times the alley will become highly
congested. Other operations for installation of the storm water
management system and for the new sewer line will be announced before
that work commences.
