Parking on Eighth Street restricted during street repairs
(Columbia, MO) -- Repairs to an electric transformer vault on
Eighth Street will temporarily eliminate parking between Broadway and
Cherry Street from Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 14, weather
permitting. A contractor for Columbia Water & Light will rebuild the
underground chamber for the transformer because it has deteriorated over
time due to weather and traffic. Once the work is completed, this
section of Eighth Street will be smoother for motorists. The parking
spots on this block will be closed so that both lanes of traffic can
remain open. Motorists are urged to exercise caution while traveling in
this area.
