Columbia Police Department Citizen Oversight Committee announces series
of public input sessions 	
								
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Citizen Oversight Committee will conduct a
series of public input sessions to determine the community’s thoughts
on forming a Citizen Review Board for the Columbia Police Department.
The following dates and locations have been scheduled:
●	March 13, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Smithton Middle School
●	March 20, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Oakland Junior High School
●	March 22, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Gentry Middle School
●	April 10, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Parkade Elementary School
●	April 12, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Black Cultural Center
●	April 17, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Armory
	The purpose of the Citizen Oversight Committee is to become
familiar with the Columbia Police Department's present system for
reviewing complaints, to understand the feelings of those within the
Police Department and the various interest groups that might have a
concerns, to obtain general citizen comment, to study the various
systems of citizen oversight and to provide a report with
recommendations to the City Council.The Citizen’s Oversight Committee
is NOT a review board for the Police Department.
	All meeting agendas and minutes, handouts, emails, list of
members and other materials are available to the public and media at

the Daniel Boone Building (City Hall), Broadway and Seventh Street. The
Daniel Boone Regional Library (Broadway and  Garth) has computers and
library staff available to assist the public in locating this material
on the Internet.
