Early morning fire damages another central Columbia home

COLUMBIA, MO (November 12, 2008) - Columbia firefighters responded to a
fire in a home at 212 Third Ave. at 4:08 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke in the residence and some fire.
The fire was extinguished in less than five minutes. A search of the
home confirmed no one was inside. The home appeared to be vacant,
however some furnishings were scattered about inside the home.

Fire investigators have determined that the fire began in the living
room. The home was vacant at the time of the fire. Damage to the
structure is estimated between $8,000 and $10,000. The cause of the fire
is still under investigation.

Fire investigators do not believe at this time that the fire at 103 E
Forest on Tuesday, Nov. 11, or today's fire is related.
