Extrication accident injures one
COLUMBIA, MO (October 10, 2008) - Columbia firefighters were called at
8:09 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, to the 126-mile marker of Interstate 70
eastbound for an extrication accident.
Fire crews arrived and found a four-door passenger vehicle on its roof
in the ditch of the eastbound lanes, just west of the Providence Road
overpass. One passenger was injured and trapped inside the vehicle.
Firefighters freed the occupant from the vehicle after approximately 10
minutes. The male patient was transported to University Hospital by
ambulance with moderate injuries.
Any media inquiries relating to the accident investigation, or the
release of the victim's name, should be directed to the Columbia Police
Department.
