Several Vehicles Intentionally Set on Fire in North Columbia
COLUMBIA, MO (September 1, 2008) - Columbia Fire Fighters were called
at 11:59 pm on
Sunday, August 31, 2008 to 1804 Holly Avenue for a report of a vehicle
fire.

Fire crews arrived and observed one vehicle fully engulfed in flames,
and two other vehicles which sustained fire damage, located in
different
areas of the parking lot from the main fire. Further investigation
identified an additional three vehicles on the lot which contained
evidence consistent with attempts to set fire inside those vehicles.

There were no injuries and a damage estimate is not yet available.

Investigators from the Columbia Fire Department were on-scene and have
determined the fires were intentionally set. Several articles of
physical evidence were located and recovered at the scene. Officers
from the Columbia Police Department are assisting in the
investigation.

The Columbia Fire Department is asking anyone with information
relating
to this case to call Crime Stoppers at 573-875-TIPS (8477).
