City Council sets budget public hearings



COLUMBIA, MO (August 17, 2009) - The FY 2010 budget process continues
as outlined by the City Charter. The FY 2010 budget runs Oct. 1, 2009 -
Sept. 30, 2010. Three public budget hearing will be held during the
following City Council meetings:

Monday, Aug. 17, 2009;

Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009; and

Monday, Sept. 21, 2009. 



The Aug. 17 Council meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. to allow time for
the budget hearing and funding recommendations from four advisory groups
- Community Services Advisory Commission, Community Development
Commission, Cultural Affairs Commission and Public Communications
Resource Advisory Committee. 

City Council will hold a series of budget work sessions on the
following dates:

Monday, Aug. 24, 2009;

Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009; and 

Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009. 



Budget work sessions are open to the public. Prior to the work session
on Aug. 24, there will be a closed meeting at 6 p.m. for City Council
and staff to discuss TIF Development Agreements. The open budget work
session will immediately follow. The Aug. 26 and Aug. 27 budget work
sessions begin at 6 pm. All three budget work sessions will be held in
the City Council Chamber on the 4th Floor, City Hall, 701 East Broadway.


Copies of the budget proposal are available at all local libraries and
the City Hall lobby. Budget documents are also posted on the City’s
Web site, www. GoColumbiaMo.com.
